Smart Checkout - Order Placement

The "Smart Checkout order checkout" module is one of the most important modules, allowing you to simplify order checkout in your store for customers by making it more convenient and faster. You can choose which fields the customer must fill in, reducing the checkout process to just a few clicks, which significantly increases store conversion. You can also add recommended products to the order to increase the average order value. The module supports all popular delivery and payment methods and allows you to configure them as flexibly as possible.

To install the "Order Checkout" module, go to "Modules - Smart Checkout - order checkout". Here you will find tabs with the available module parameters.


The following buttons are located in the upper-right corner:

  1. "Save" — allows you to save the module settings;
  2. "Reinstall module" — allows you to restore the default module settings;
  3. "Export module settings" — allows you to export the module settings;
  4. "Import module settings" — allows you to import the module settings;
  5. "Cancel" — allows you to cancel the entered settings.

The following actions are available in the "Main Settings" tab:

  1. "Status" — enables or disables the Smart Checkout module;
  2. "Enable cart?" — allows you to show or hide the cart on the checkout page;
  3. "Do not call back to confirm the order" — allows you to add an option that, when selected, adds a comment to the order stating that the customer does not need to be called back to confirm the order;
  4. "Contact via Telegram/Viber" — allows customers to choose the option of being contacted via Telegram or Viber during checkout;
  5. "Suggest authorization" — customers will be prompted to log in before placing an order if this option is enabled;
  6. "Suggest registration" — customers will be prompted to register on the site during checkout with automatic customer authorization after checkout;
  7. "Display cost in the delivery block" — allows you to enable or disable the display of delivery cost;
  8. "Auto-select first delivery method" — allows you to enable automatic selection of the first available delivery method for the customer on the first visit to the checkout page;
  9. "Display weight?" — allows you to enable or disable the display of product weight;
  10. "Allow coupons?" — customers will be able to use discount coupons on the checkout page;
  11. "Allow gift certificates?" — customers will be able to apply gift certificates;
  12. "Automatically confirm payment methods during checkout" — allows you to enable automatic order confirmation without the need to additionally click the "Place Order" button in payment modules that require it;
  13. "Minimum order amount" — sets the minimum allowed order amount for checkout;
  14. "Free delivery from" — sets the amount from which delivery will be free for the customer;
  15. "Email value if the Email field is disabled or empty" — allows you to specify the email address where order emails will be sent if the "E-mail" field is disabled or optional;
  16. "Phone number mask" — sets the phone number input format for customers.

In the "User Block" tab, you can configure the fields that will be displayed in the user block during checkout. Here you can configure the default field set, add extra fields, and also configure fields individually for each delivery method. Fields can be sorted by drag and drop by pressing and holding the corresponding cursor button.

Each individual field contains the following settings:

  1. The "Move" button — allows you to sort fields by drag and drop;
  2. "Required" — allows you to choose whether the field will be required for the customer to fill in during checkout;
  3. "Display for" — allows you to show the field to everyone, only guests, or only registered store customers;
  4. "Status" — allows you to enable or disable the field;
  5. The "Edit" button — allows you to edit the field name, placeholder, and error text that will be displayed if the field is required and not filled in by the user. You can also choose the field to which the current field value will be appended.

In the dropdown below the main fields, you can add extra OpenCart fields to the user block. Extra fields have identical settings and can also be deleted. We recommend using "Text" as the type for extra fields.


In the "Delivery Address Block" tab, you can configure the fields that will be displayed in the country and region selection blocks, as well as in the delivery address block during checkout. Here you can configure the default field set, add extra fields, and also configure fields individually for each delivery method. Fields can be sorted by drag and drop by pressing and holding the corresponding cursor button.

Please note that on the customer side, the "Delivery Address" block is divided into two blocks: the country/region selection block and the delivery address block. If necessary, you can disable the display of the country and region block by first disabling the corresponding fields.

In the "Delivery Methods" tab, you can configure the delivery methods that will be available during checkout. The following settings are available:

  1. "Status" — allows you to enable or disable the method;
  2. "Image" — allows you to upload an image for the delivery method;
  3. "Display for" — allows you to show the delivery method to everyone, only guests, or only registered store customers;
  4. "Free delivery from" — allows you to specify the order amount from which free delivery will be available for customers;
  5. "Available only with manufacturers" — allows you to choose manufacturers for which the delivery method will be available;
  6. "Edit localization" — allows you to edit the heading and name of the delivery method.

In the "Payment Methods" tab, you can configure the payment methods that will be available during checkout. The following settings are available:

  1. "Status" — allows you to enable or disable the method;
  2. "Image" — allows you to upload an image for the payment method;
  3. "Display for" — allows you to show the payment method to everyone, only guests, or only registered store customers;
  4. "Unavailable in which delivery methods?" — allows you to select delivery methods where the current payment method will not be displayed;
  5. "Edit localization" — allows you to edit the heading and description of the payment method.

You can also configure extra fields for each individual payment method. The following settings are available:

  1. The "Move" button — allows you to sort fields by drag and drop;
  2. "Required" — allows you to choose whether the field will be required for the customer to fill in during checkout;
  3. "Display for" — allows you to show the field to everyone, only guests, or only registered store customers;
  4. "Status" — allows you to enable or disable the field;
  5. The "Edit" button — allows you to edit the field name, placeholder, and error text that will be displayed if the field is required and not filled in by the user. You can also choose the field to which the current field value will be appended;
  6. The "Delete" button — allows you to delete the field from the current payment method.

In the "Extra Fields" tab, you can configure extra fields to be shown in a specific block during checkout. Here you can add new fields, edit existing ones, and delete them.


In the "Recommended Products" tab, you can configure a block with recommended products to be displayed during checkout. This allows you to increase the average order value and recommend specific products to customers during checkout. The following settings are available:

  1. "Enable recommended products block?" — allows you to enable or disable the display of the recommended products block;
  2. "Recommended products" — allows you to select products to display in the block;
  3. "Recommended product image size" — allows you to set the width and height of recommended product images;
  4. "Block heading" — allows you to set the heading for the recommended products block;
  5. "Block description" — allows you to add a description to the recommended products block.

In the "Block Sorting" tab, you can configure the display order of blocks on the checkout page. Blocks can be sorted by drag and drop by pressing and holding the corresponding cursor button.


In the "Comment" tab, you can configure the customer comment block, which can be shown during checkout. The following settings are available:

  1. "Status" — allows you to enable or disable the display of the customer comment block;
  2. "Block heading" — allows you to set the heading for the comment block;
  3. "Placeholder" — allows you to set the text for the comment textarea.

Attention! The agreement terms checkbox is selected in the OpenCart settings in the "Options" section.
